Testosterone deficiency in men was almost unstudied and unpromoted until Viagra arrived and men came out of the closet. Previously doctors had been told there was no such thing as the male menopause and that the changes associated with testosterone deficiency such as loss of muscle mass, decreased strength, stamina and libido were all normal aging changes.
