Nestle expands its investment in nutritional therapies; and collaborates on an Alzheimer’s Disease diagnostic test.

Nestle, the company best known for its chocolate and confectionery brands, has announced that its Health Science division – formed in 2011, is expanding its investment in nutritional therapies.  Aiming to explore novel ways to treat and prevent different types of diseases using nutritional approaches, the world’s largest packaged food company estimates the business may be worth $10.5 billion in annual sales.  Nestle also has signed a research collaboration agreement with AC Immune, a Swiss biotech company, to develop an Alzheimer’s Disease diagnostic test.
