Prescription drug addiction overtaking recreational drugs.

Giving people of all ages “hands-on” introductions to circuit training - - frequently changing from aerobic to resistance exercises to make exercising less boring and far more effective (1) - - alerted me to two new problem areas:
a) Hormone imbalances in very active people who had an unusually hard time building muscle mass.
b) Prescription drug addictions in, mostly younger, adults that appeared like recreational drug problems at first.
Note: problem areas become more obvious when a body is pushed to physically perform.
We traced a) to body pollutants in plastic, like BPA (mimicking estrogens), that could be removed with a (non-)flushing niacin/sauna detox (2), and b) to abuse of prescription drugs (originally prescribed for others) (3).
Keeping an eye on possible prescription drug abuse, amazing facts evolved - - - one being that prescription drug abuse has apparently bypassed recreational drug abuse. This was confirmed when several of us were invited to a Hollywood movie screening of “AMERICAN ADDICT”, an absolutely magnificent full-length documentary by Gregory Smith, MD, demonstrating that prescription drug abuse is moving up, and up, and is already in the # 3 position as cause of death in America; see trailer under (3).
