Regularly ingesting soda can make you more likely to develop diabetes and cardiovascular diseases to go along with obesity

Carbonated drinks are dangerous in many ways. They are detrimental to your overall health, wealth, and environment. Some may even argue they are just as bad if not worse than cigarettes. Regularly ingesting soda can make you more likely to develop diabetes and cardiovascular diseases to go along with obesity.

Many people have become vocal about soda such as Jillian Michael who recently spoke about the dangers, stating soda is worse than cigarettes and just as addicting, adding that switching to sparkling water can help replace the habit which is healthier than the high sugar carbonated mixtures.

Sugar and caffeine content in soda is highly addictive, even more so when combined. One can of soda may contain up to 40 grams of added sugars. 48% of the American population drink soda daily. Convenient fast food diets combined with soda makes for an unhealthy populous. Statistically 35-40% of Americans are now obese, and 1/5 deaths are associated with obesity.

Most companies keep their recipe secret, so you will never really know everything that is actually being put in them. Soda also has various chemicals in it to go along with the sugar and caffeine such as Bisphenol-A (BPA), phosphoric acid,  citric acid, high fructose corn syrup, sodium benzoate, caramel color and artificial dyes.

You are far better off avoiding these drinks than risking your health drinking them. It may be hard at first to break the habit, but the benefits are worth it. Michaels offers advice saying to try sparkling water, or adding natural juices to water if you find it bland. You can even add oranges, cucumber, mint, lemon, lime, or a variety of fruit or vegetables to water. They made add calories to your diet, but they are natural and healthy sugars. Green tea is also a god replacement as it is an antioxidant.

2.7 liters of water per day for women, and 3.7 liters of water per day for men is what is recommended by The Institute of Medicine in Nepal for water intake. Drinking water has many health benefits such as flushing out toxins in your body, promotes weight loss, improves your skin complexion, increases your energy level, relieves fatigue, maintains proper digestions and prevents constipation, boosts your immune system by hydrating your internal organs and providing enough oxygen to your blood cells, keeps your joints lubricated and helps keep muscles elastic, preventing painful cramps, puts you in a good mood by making your body function properly and adds to the good mood by saving you a bunch of money. Water, it does the body good.
