Revseratrol vs. Pterostilbene -Absorption and Impact in Brain

By cmeletis at Nov. 22, 2011, 12:42 p.m., 17008 hits

There is no question that both resveratrol and pterostilbene are potent naturally occurring substances that are well worth clinical consideration. Yet, Pterostilbene appears to absorb better. As clinicians the fact that pterostilbene has a -methoxyl group vs. a hydroyxl group (resveratrol) once again points to how the human body desires methyl groups. This is why I also target other methylated supplements, Methyl-cobalamin (B12), Methyltetrahydrofolate (MTHF), SAMe, etc.
