This Italian research identifies a mechanism by which muscle tissue is regenerated, thereby presenting the opportunity for a therapy, as well as insight into why this regenerative capability declines with age.

This is early stage work, far from any potential medicine, but all new knowledge of regenerative mechanisms helps to provide a vital basis for the next generation of therapies.
