This lays the groundwork for the development of regenerative therapies for a wide range of many deadly lung conditions like cystic fibrosis and lung cancer. All in all, this is a good year for regenerative medicine; scientists have been making astounding progress in understanding and using stem cells to grow replacement tissue and organs. We can only hope that this keeps up!
