Fukushima, Japan was hit with a series of devastating events in 2011 that culminated into one of the worst nuclear disasters in history. This started with a 9.0 earthquake, which caused a 15 metre 50 foot Tsunami that disabled the power supply and cooling functions at the Daiichi nuclear power plant. All of this lead to a nuclear accident which was rated a 7 on the INES scale, in which 4 nuclear reactors were destroyed and clean up efforts have been ongoing ever since.
