Engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) report designing a nanoparticle sensor based on urine sample analysis that could offer an early diagnosis of cancer. The study published in Nature Nanotechnology describes how the sensors can detect many cancerous proteins and how they could also be used to distinguish the type of tumor as well as how the tumor is responding to treatment.
