This article gives a brief overview of some of the larger public funding initiatives for embryonic stem cell research underway in Eastern US states. "Although Democrats tend to be friendlier to stem cell research and although New York is currently headed by a Republican governor and a Republican majority in the New York Senate, Krueger said she believes the proposals will eventually pass.
