The article illustrates that while there are grounds for optimism on the research side, there are still a good many people in political circles who want to restrict development of effective age-retarding medicine. Nebulous fear of change is not an acceptable reason for blocking healthy life extension research, and thereby ensuring the deaths of tens of millions of people every year.
