GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The immunologic response to infection or vaccine is generated in the lymph nodes. Lymphatic fluid from tissue or from an injection site is channelled, by the lymphatic vessels, to the lymph nodes where T-cells and B cells are activated, thus, the objective of the lymphatic pump is to facilitate this movement through the body’s natural filtration system by stimulating he movement of lymphatic fluid. The lymphatic pump is a manipulative technique developed by Osteopathic physicians and performed by D.O’s and health professionals.
ROLE FOR ANTI-AGING:
The lymphatic pump has proven to be remarkably effective at stimulating immunity and helping to reduce the discomfort of any condition in which thick mucous build-up hinders clear breathing.
SIDE EFFECTS/CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Exercise caution if skin, tissue, or organs are otherwise injured prior to performing this procedure.
