With support for a large appropriation unclear in the Legislature, both legislative leaders said they want to size up how private investors respond to the new Massachusetts stem cell law before committing taxpayer money. ... Before the new law, scientists conducting embryonic stem cell research were required to seek the approval of their local district attorney."
