In clinical practice we routinely see that low levels of dopamine along with alterations of norepinephrine and epinephrine contribute to increased addictive behavior.
The botanical: Mucuna pruriens' seeds contain approximately 3.6-4.2% levodopa, the same chemical used in several Parkinson's disease drugs that is a precursor to dopamine.
I routinely use Mucuna in my practice to address altered neurotransmitter finding to support balanced mood and to assist in overall addiction control.
